Turtle or Rabbit?

Would you rather behave like a turtle or a rabbit? My nieces and nephew are always asking their parents and relatives to make up some 'would you rather...?' ideas during dinner time. Actually, in this case, it is such an interesting question. I think I have reacted to the situations like both of them and received the exact outcome as it happened in that fable.

Turtle is slow but tenacious. She takes a small, slow step at a time but it stores enough energy for a long run. On the other hand, Rabbit is fast and active. She has the ability to win the competition but her natural gift tricks her mind which causes some painful consequences at the end of the day. After raising my awareness of mindfulness and self-care, I do not want to rush myself into anything. This is one of the biggest lessons I have learned throughout these years. Things happen for a reason and they will appear when it is the right time.

It is not a shame to be seen as Turtle. This whole 'pushing things' idea is so common in this modern world, especially in the young adult populations. They do not have enough patience to wait for what they are deserved. They tend to follow Rabbit's path which is fast and quick to achieve their goals. Comparing myself, and watching my friends bought a fancy car or a new purse, had a job, or travelled etc., it made me nauseous and depressed. I constantly put pressure on myself, and stressed me out. Nothing became better but worse. I regretted that I were too harsh on myself and interpreted wrong messages. From now on, walking slowly but firmly. At the end of the day, I am the only one who need to take all responsibilities for my health, and happiness. Don't let others fool you with those flashy things! Be yourself and be patient... Your dream will come true as long as you do not give up on it easily. Stay strong, happy, and healthy!
