After doing anything, especially a presentation or an interview, I felt so ashamed, then blamed myself for not making enough efforts to be perfect. This should be eliminated because it caused more harms and damages on mental and physical health.
One day, I attended a Psychology conference in New Mexico, USA. While waiting for the speakers, I initiated a conversation with the lady who sat right next to my left-hand side. The details of our conversation faded away throughout the years. However, I would never forget one comment she made after I expressed my admiration towards those famous experts and guest speakers. She said, "One day, you will stand on that stage and present your idea too". It seemed to be so assertive and inspirational, but I only smiled and thanked for her kind words. I still doubted myself because I was not fully aware of who I am. The circle of people whom I used to live close to blinded me with criticism, jealousy, negativity, and toxicity. Those factors distracted me from growing mindfully into an authentic version of myself and flourishing.
Instead of saying "I cannot do it", or "I did it terribly", we should say "I will do it" and "I have done my best!". Believing in yourself is a key to promote your confidence, creativity, achievement, motivation, and freedom.
