I Was Sick

It was such a horrible experience! My throat was itchy and painful which triggered the terrible dry cough. It caused so much distraction and stole all my energy. The later of the day, the more severe it was. My whole body was inflamed and hurtful. My eyes and my face started turning red, my head wanted to explode, and body temperature constantly increased. On the other hand, I felt so chilly and my body weakly shivered. These physical symptoms led to other emotional issues such as loneliness, sadness, homesickness, and emotional fragility.


That evening, I immediately took some orange, honey, and ginger chewy cough drops which are so helpful for relieving a sore throat or coughing symptoms. In addition, I made myself a cup of hot limeade adding a pinch of ginger powder and a table spoon honey. While getting fever, make sure that we hydrate ourselves with enough warm water or hot herbal tea. Furthermore, we should change to light clothes, and ensure not cover up in a thick blanket because it will rocket the body heat. Last but not least, a warm or hot towel comes in handy to reduce the high temperature. The last important method is sleeping well. Sleeping is an effective medicine to heal the mind and body.


After experiencing these symptoms, I am impressed by the self-healing power. It did a fantastic job to fight with toxic factors, maintain the balance, and recover from illness. How wonderful our bodies are! Sickness is unavoidable in our lives. I know that it is not easy to deal with, especially when we live alone or far away from family. Therefore, we should prepare ourselves with fundamental knowledge in order to take care of ourselves properly while we are sick. Stay safe and healthy!
